Mitch Kuhman is an audio engineer, mixer and academically recognized musician based in Los Angeles, CA.
Engaged with all things musical since he can cognitively comprehend, Mitch began performing regularly in 2009 as the vocalist/guitarist for Florida-based pop punk group, Miley On Meth. Eager to grow and diversify his strengths, he attended Jacksonville University, earning numerous accolades — including membership in to Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honor society — and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Business. He interned with renowned, multi platinum audio engineer Paul Lapinski (Alicia Keys, Ludacris), learning the craft while running and assisting at My Platinum Sound until earning the reigns to run his own sessions as a resident engineer. Mitch, now with a more eclectic, funk-influenced style, continued to perform on the east coast while concurrently establishing himself as a trusted ear in the studio.
In 2015, Mitch's experience brought him to Orlando, FL to join the faculty of Full Sail University as an instructor of mixing techniques and recording principles. This took him from the small scale project studio to the college's state of the art facilities, operating routinely in a large format studio environment. The opportunity also allowed him to connect and learn from GRAMMY award-winning colleagues, soaking up the wealth of knowledge to further his technical aptitude and embrace the behaviors of a true professional in the music industry. After four exceptional years on staff, Mitch moved out west.
Now residing in Los Angeles, CA, Mitch incorporates his extensive musical background, emotional depth and technical savvy in perfect harmony to provide what your project needs to reach the next level. Functioning independently, he is a Pro Tools Certified User who can provide a number of services including session setup, editing, mixing, tuning and vocal production. With a firm grasp on signal flow and experience with large format consoles — including the SSL Duality and API Vision — as well as project studios, Mitch is an asset in the recording studio whether it be in a chief or assistant engineering role.
